Each September, people around the world wear a gold ribbon to raise awareness of childhood cancers.

In the UK, a child affected by neuroblastoma dies every ten days. Solving Kids' Cancer is fighting for a future where no child dies from neuroblastoma or suffers due to its treatment.

This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we’d love you to Glow Gold with Solving Kids’ Cancer to give hope to children fighting this horrible disease.

Glow gold

Join our Glow Gold Day on Friday 20th September! Whether you're at home or at work, school or with your local community, all you need to do is:

  • Wear something gold, whether it's an item of clothing, a funky hat, a glittery bit of tinsel or even getting your nails painted!
  • Donate to Solving Kids' Cancer via our website, text or on our #GlowGoldDay social media posts
  • Take a photo or a selfie and post it on social media using #GlowGoldDay
  • Tag three friends who will join in the fun and raise awareness for childhood cancer

A golden month

Can't do Friday 20th September? Childhood Cancer Awareness Month goes on throughout September and you can always schedule your event on a different day that suits you.

We’ve put on our glittery thinking caps on to come up with some fun gold-themed fundraising ideas that you can choose from to support Solving Kids' Cancer.

One of the easiest ways to raise money and awareness is by holding a collection on behalf of the charity. You can do this on a busy street, in a shopping centre, at the train station or even at work. There are a few things to keep in mind, and you may need to apply for the relevant licence to fundraise in public, but the team at Solving Kids' Cancer will sort everything out for you. Bake sale

We all know that you can't go wrong with a bake sale. Everyone's day is better with cake! Hold one this September for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and wow your school, colleagues, friends and family with your golden bakes, glittery cakes and glowing sweet treats!

We've picked out a few recipes that could be perfect for your golden bake sale!

Dress-down day

Gold is the international colour of childhood cancer awareness, so why not host a golden dress-down day at work?

You could do this on Glow Gold Day, Friday 20th September, and join in on social media!
