The London to Brighton Cycle Ride is one of the UK’s most iconic and rewarding cycling challenges, covering approximately 55 miles from Clapham Common in South London to the vibrant seafront in Brighton. The route takes riders out of the capital and into the surrounding countryside, following a scenic journey through Surrey and Sussex. Cyclists pass through a series of charming towns and villages before reaching the South Downs, offering a varied and engaging ride that blends urban roads with quieter country lanes.
One of the defining moments of the challenge comes towards the end, as participants take on the famous Ditchling Beacon – a mile-long climb to the top of the South Downs, where riders are rewarded with stunning views before descending towards the finish line by the sea. The ride is fully supported, with water stops along the way and a fantastic atmosphere from fellow cyclists and supporters, making it a memorable experience for riders of all abilities taking on this classic endurance event.
