Research policies

Solving Kids' Cancer UK supports clear Association of Medical Research Charities (AMRC) policies on research in universities and animal research.

Research in universities

Several of the projects we fund have been developed and are overseen by leading universities in the UK and abroad.

We are committed to ensuring the most promising academic research can be transitioned quickly and effectively from these institutions to the clinic for the benefit of children with neuroblastoma. Charities play a key role in making this possible as funding for this type of work is extremely limited, and without help from charities like Solving Kids’ Cancer UK many medical breakthroughs would not have been made.

For this reason, we support the AMRC position statement on supporting research in universities.

Animal research

While we do not routinely fund research using animals as part of our Research Strategy, we do support the AMRC position statement on the use of animals in research.
