Should I be fundraising for additional treatment for neuroblastoma?
Choosing whether to fundraise to access treatment that is not available on the NHS is a deeply personal decision and will be informed by many different factors unique to each child and family’s circumstances. Some families choose to fundraise so they can access treatment that is not routinely available through the NHS, such as certain clinical trials or private treatments. This may be with the aim of helping their child remain in remission after frontline or other therapy, or to get back into remission if the cancer has returned.
There is no “right” or “wrong” approach to whether to fundraise or not, decisions around fundraising and accessing treatment outside of the NHS need to feel right for your child and family. Your child’s UK clinical team is also best placed to support you with making decisions about further treatment for your child and all treatment decisions should be made in partnership.

Fundraising for treatment not available on the NHS
Support accessing treatment not available on the NHS
Our approach
Solving Kids’ Cancer UK does not encourage or promote fundraising for treatment outside of the NHS. We also do not provide medical advice, determine treatment plans, or make clinical recommendations. All medical decisions, including whether treatment abroad should be considered, should be made with your child’s UK clinical team. However, we understand why some families explore and access treatment options which are not available on the NHS, and the need to fundraise to make accessing treatment possible. Therefore, working in partnership with a child's clinical team, we will do our best to support families who choose this path.
