Solving Kids’ Cancer UK Third Party Events – Terms and Conditions
Terms and conditions for Solving Kids’ Cancer UK places at Third Party Events. This includes Run for Charity and Action Challenge events.
To participate in a run or challenge you must agree to the terms and conditions below. These terms
constitute the fundraising agreement between Solving Kids' Cancer UK and you, as a
participant.
Taking part
- I understand that the event is organised by a third party (“Event Organiser”), who is
responsible for the conduct and operation of the event, including all health and safety
requirements. - It is my responsibility to read any terms and conditions issued by the Event Organisers and to
comply with these. - I confirm that I am medically fit and that I participate in the event at my own risk. Solving Kids' Cancer UK will not be held responsible for any injury or illness resulting from my participation or training.
- In the event of being unable to participate due to injury or any other issue, you must let Solving Kids’ Cancer UK know as soon as possible so that your place may be cancelled. If you withdraw after the event entry deadline (which, unless otherwise communicated to you by Solving Kids’ Cancer UK, is the point at which you have completed your official registration with the event organisers) you may be held responsible for your fundraising commitment.
- Solving Kids’ Cancer UK reserves the right to revoke race places in exceptional circumstances.
- I acknowledge that any registration fee is non-refundable, and that charity places in the event
are non-transferable. The registration fee does not contribute towards my fundraising target.
Fundraising
- As there is a cost to the charity for this place, we ask everyone taking part to commit to raising the minimum fundraising target (excluding Gift Aid) which will be clearly stated on the Run for Charity registration page and communicated to you by Solving Kids' Cancer UK via email. This helps Solving Kids' Cancer UK make sure the money you raise can go directly towards covering this and supporting our services.
- If you haven’t created your JustGiving page/confirmed commitment to meeting the fundraising target via email by the withdrawal deadline, Solving Kids' Cancer UK reserve the right to withdraw your charity space. The withdrawal deadline will be listed on the Solving Kids' Cancer UK website and emailed to you.
- Any fundraising I undertake in connection with my participation in the event will be for Solving Kids' Cancer UK only (applicable to Charity Place participants) and I will forward all monies donated to the Charity either by cash, cheque or via an online giving provider no later than four weeks after the event.
- I will only use lawful means to fundraise for Solving Kids' Cancer UK and will not bring the charity's name into disrepute. I will observe the following fundraising rules, and I will comply with any further guidance and advice issued by Solving Kids' Cancer UK:
- I will not use the Solving Kids' Cancer UK logo without first obtaining permission.
- I will tell my sponsors that I am raising money “in aid of” Solving Kids' Cancer UKI will obtain approval from Solving Kids' Cancer UK before approaching press or celebrities to support my event.
- I will secure the necessary approvals prior to undertaking street collections or collections on private property. House-to-house collections are not permitted. - I will ensure that I take responsibility for the safe keeping of money raised in Solving Kids' Cancer UK's name, both during and after the collections, until it is transferred to Solving Kids' Cancer UK.
Photography
- I understand that there may be photography at the event, and I grant permission for Solving Kids' Cancer UK to use photographs, videos, quotes, or any other record of my participation in this event for the
purpose of marketing future events online and on print materials. - I understand that if I do NOT wish for my photograph to be taken and/or used I should inform Solving Kids' Cancer UK by emailing please events@solvingkidscancer.org.uk.
Confirmation
I confirm I have read, understood and agree to all the terms and conditions set out above, and
understand Solving Kids' Cancer UK may terminate our relationship if I am in breach of any of the terms and
conditions.
