Named Funds

Each Solving Kids’ Cancer UK Named Fund honours and celebrates a child affected by neuroblastoma, raising money in their name to help other children and families.

What is a Named Fund?

A Named Fund is a special way to raise money in a child’s name, to support Solving Kids’ Cancer UK’s work for all children and families affected by neuroblastoma.

These funds help create lasting impact by supporting research, family support, advocacy and our vital programmes that make a difference for families, now and in the future.

Inspired by our pioneer Named Funds, the Oscar Knox FundAlfie’s Wishes Fund and Smiles for Stanley Fund, our Named Funds have collectively raised over £1.5m, driving meaningful change for families across the UK.

Why create a Named Fund?

Families choose to create a Named Fund for many different reasons. These may include to:

  • honour their child’s life, legacy or journey
  • create a space for community, connection and hope
  • channel fundraising energy into long‑term impact
  • help support other families facing neuroblastoma
  • make a positive, lasting difference for future children

What your Named Fund can support

Each Named Fund can be directed towards the areas of our work that matter most to you. This may include:

  • funding research
  • providing education, advocacy and support
  • pastoral funds and access to additional treatment
  • supporting our general fund, where the need is greatest

This makes each Named Fund as meaningful and personal as the child it honours.

How we support you

Solving Kids’ Cancer UK will guide you through each step of setting up and running a Named Fund.

Before a Named Fund is created, we will:

  • talk with you about your hopes, motivations and wishes for the fund
  • explain how Named Funds work, including roles, responsibilities and expectations
  • help you explore which areas of Solving Kids’ Cancer UK’s work you may want your fund to support
  • ensure you have all the information you need to decide if a Named Fund feels right for your family
  • if you choose to proceed, formalise the arrangement through an agreement so everything is clear and transparent from the beginning

Once a Named Fund has been agreed, we will:

  • create your fund’s page on our website and work with you to shape the story, tone and presentation
  • create a bespoke logo and visual identity for your fund, guided entirely by you
  • ensure donations are managed safely and transparently in line with fundraising regulations
  • offer ongoing fundraising guidance, including materials and resources
  • keep in touch regularly to ensure your fund reflects your hopes and wishes

Hear from a named fund family

“Over the years, with the amazing support I've had, I've created and taken part in many events to raise awareness and funds for Solving Kids' Cancer UK. Hannah's Heroes is a thriving community and with the strong foundation of Solving Kids' Cancer UK as our support I know we can become a force to be reckoned with, just like Hannah.”
