Research update- March 2021

Going into Spring we have been busy developing our approach to sharing and celebrating our research work. At the start of the year our new Research and Digital Communications Officer Emily Hall joined the team, with her focus being on exactly that! Solving Kids’ Cancer UK has grown its involvement in research hugely in recent years, and now that Emily is here, we have the resources to communicate our dedicated work more often and more effectively.

As well as delivering regular updates on research projects that we are directly involved in, Emily will work on sharing more general information on the research landscape with our parent community. This will help SKC to become a hub of knowledge for parents and families who are trying to get to grips with the world of neuroblastoma. She is thrilled to be joining the team with a background in science and science communication that she has always wanted to bring to an organisation that uses research to help people.

In our commitment to being actively involved in the research community, the whole research team attended this year’s Advances in Neuroblastoma Research conference which was held virtually in January. Over 700 researchers, healthcare professionals and industry experts were brought together for the event to share and discuss the very latest developments in neuroblastoma research.

Alongside this our Head of Research Leona Knox has been working hard to manage the progress of our ongoing projects including the TITAN study and SIOPEN High-Risk Neuroblastoma 2 clinical trial. We look forward to sharing more updates on these soon as they move forward.
