Why I'm fundraising

I am running the midsussex marathon weekend on April the 29th 2023. This run is a marathon distance over 3 consecutive days. Consisting of 16km in East Grinstead, 16km in Haywards heath and finally 10km in burgess hill. I am running this to hopefully raise some funds for my good friends little boy, teddy.

Teddy is 3 years old and was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2022. He has had treatment including a stem cell transplant during the last 12 months. My friend and her husband have been amazing supporting their son through this and also have a younger son who turns 1 soon.

I am hoping to raise money to help Teddy access maintenance treatment to prevent relapse following his first line treatment. These treatments are only available abroad; either in the USA (Bivalent Vaccine trial in New york) Or Barcelona which aims to improve chances of survival in relapse cases.

This run will be a challenge for me, but what better inspiration than Teddy who has endured so much! Kat and Alastair, family and friends all want to give Teddy the best chance for his future. Please sponsor my run to help this. Even the smallest donation will make a big difference.

Meet Teddy

Teddy is a three-year-old from West Sussex who is obsessed with anything to do with trains! In July 2022, Teddy was diagnosed with high-risk neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive childhood cancer that has a 40-50% chance of long-term survival at diagnosis.
