Hi All,

I will be running both the 2021 Cardiff Half Marathon (3rd October) and the full Newport Marathon (24th October) to raise money for Henry, a six year old boy with high risk neuroblastoma.

Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer that has a 40-50% chance of long term survival. Henry's parents have been raising money to enable him to participate in a clinical trial in New York that aims to stop his neuroblastoma from returning. Notwithstanding the challenges posed by COVID, £140,000 has already been raised towards the target of £163,000. Please look up Henry’s story on Instagram or Facebook by searching 'Henry The Brave'.

I would be extremely grateful for your support in raising money for Henry, whose battle has felt particularly close to home. Henry's dad Graham and I were schoolmates, and Henry is just days younger than one of my own boys.

Rest assured that this is going to be a monumental challenge and any donations will be well-earned! I haven’t run further than 5k in a decade, am currently considerably above fighting weight, and have both a knackered knee and ankle (which if you’ve ever spent longer than 5 minutes in my company, you will no doubt have heard me whinge about...). I have set up an Instagram account to cater for all your schadenfreude needs - @runboyrun1984. Watch me suffer and donate some money!

Thank you for your support!
